Daywise Itinerary
Day 1 - GUWAHATI – SHILLONG
Arrive at Guwahati Airport/Railway Station, where you will meet your driver and begin your journey towards Shillong. En route, stop at the beautiful Umiam Lake, a spectacular reservoir surrounded by green Khasi hills. Enjoy the panoramic views and take photographs. Continue towards Shillong, the picturesque capital of Meghalaya. On arrival, check in to your hotel and relax. If time permits, proceed for a short evening visit to Police Bazaar, the lively commercial centre of Shillong. Sightseeing - Umiam Lake, Wards Lake, Police Bazaar, Local market. Overnight stay in Shillong.
Day 2 - SHILLONG – CHERRAPUNJI / SOHRA
After breakfast, check out and begin your journey towards Cherrapunji (Sohra). En route, enjoy the beautiful landscapes of Meghalaya and visit some of Shillong's important attractions depending on time. Proceed towards Sohra, famous for its dramatic cliffs, waterfalls, caves and lush green landscapes. Visit Elephant Falls and Shillong Peak before continuing towards Cherrapunji, subject to time and local conditions. On arrival, check in to your hotel/resort. Sightseeing - Shillong Peak, Elephant Falls, Scenic Khasi Hills, Sohra viewpoints. Overnight stay in Cherrapunji/Sohra.
Day 3 - CHERRAPUNJI FULL-DAY SIGHTSEEING
After breakfast, proceed for a full-day sightseeing tour of Cherrapunji/Sohra. Begin with Nohkalikai Falls, one of Meghalaya's most spectacular waterfalls. Continue to Mawsmai Cave, known for its limestone formations and natural underground passages. Visit Seven Sisters Falls, also known as Nohsngithiang Falls, where several streams cascade dramatically down the limestone cliffs. Continue to Eco Park and other scenic viewpoints depending on weather and accessibility. For guests interested in trekking, the Nongriat Double-Decker Living Root Bridge can be considered as an optional activity, but it involves a substantial trek and should be planned separately according to the guests' fitness and available time. Sightseeing - Nohkalikai Falls, Mawsmai Cave, Seven Sisters Falls, Eco Park, Cherrapunji viewpoints, Optional Nongriat, Double-Decker Living Root Bridge. Overnight stay in Cherrapunji/Sohra.
Day 4 - CHERRAPUNJI – MAWLYNNONG – DAWKI
After breakfast, check out and proceed towards Mawlynnong and Dawki. Visit Mawlynnong, renowned for its beautiful village environment, sustainable lifestyle and living-root-bridge heritage. The official Meghalaya Tourism site highlights the village's Nohwet Living Root Bridge, Sky Viewpoint and century-old Church of the Epiphany. Continue towards Dawki, located near the India-Bangladesh border. Visit the famous Umngot River, known for its exceptionally clear water under favourable weather conditions. Enjoy the scenic surroundings and, if available and suitable, take a boat ride on the river. You may also visit the Dawki border area and local market. Later proceed to your hotel/homestay in Dawki or Mawlynnong. Sightseeing - Mawlynnong Village Nohwet, Living Root Bridge, Sky Viewpoint, Church of the Epiphany, Dawki Umngot River, India-Bangladesh border area. Overnight stay in Dawki/Mawlynnong.
Day 5 - DAWKI / MAWLYNNONG – GUWAHATI
After breakfast, check out and begin your journey towards Guwahati. On arrival, check in to your hotel and freshen up. Later proceed for Guwahati sightseeing. Visit the revered Kamakhya Temple, one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Assam. If time permits, visit the Assam State Museum, Umananda Temple area or enjoy a relaxing evening beside the Brahmaputra. An optional Brahmaputra River Cruise can also be arranged depending on the operating schedule and weather. Sightseeing - Kamakhya Temple Brahmaputra River, Assam State Museum – time permitting Umananda Temple / riverfront, Optional Brahmaputra River Cruise. Overnight stay in Guwahati.
Day 6 - GUWAHATI – KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK
After an early breakfast, check out and proceed towards Kaziranga National Park. Kaziranga is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of India's premier wildlife destinations, particularly famous for its one-horned rhinoceros. The park is also home to elephants, wild buffalo, swamp deer, tigers and a wide variety of birdlife. On arrival, check in to your wildlife resort. Depending on safari availability and arrival time, enjoy an afternoon Jeep Safari through one of Kaziranga's designated ranges. Keep your camera ready for sightings of rhinoceros, elephants, deer, wild buffaloes and numerous bird species. Return to the resort after the safari and relax. Sightseeing / Activities - Transfer to Kaziranga, Kaziranga National Park Jeep Safari – subject to availability Wildlife viewing. Evening leisure at the resort. Overnight stay in Kaziranga.
Day 7 - KAZIRANGA SAFARI – GUWAHATI DEPARTURE
Wake up early and proceed for an early-morning Jeep Safari in Kaziranga, subject to safari availability and park regulations. The park's different ranges offer opportunities to experience its grasslands, wetlands and diverse wildlife. Official Assam Tourism notes that Jeep Safaris are available across the park's main ranges. Return to the resort for breakfast. Check out and begin your journey towards Guwahati Airport/Railway Station for your onward journey. Depending on the departure time, short stops can be arranged en route Sightseeing / Activities - Morning Jeep Safari Wildlife viewing, Scenic Assam countryside. Transfer to Guwahati
