Arunachal Pradesh requires appropriate entry permits, and the required documentation should be arranged before travelling.Bum La Pass and other restricted border areas require additional authorization and are strictly subject to weather, road conditions and military permission. During winter, heavy snowfall can affect routes around Sela Pass and Tawang. The sightseeing sequence may be changed depending on weather, road conditions, local restrictions and hotel location. High-altitude travel can be physically demanding; guests should follow the driver's/local authority's instructions. Hotel check-in/check-out timings are subject to the respective hotel's policy. Daywise Itinerary
Day 1 - ARRIVAL BHALUKPONG – LOCAL SIGHTSEEING
Arrive at Bhalukpong, the scenic gateway to Arunachal Pradesh. Meet your driver and proceed to the hotel for check-in. After freshening up, explore the surrounding areas of Bhalukpong. The town is located beside the Kameng River and is surrounded by lush forests and Himalayan foothills. Depending on your arrival time, visit nearby scenic spots and enjoy a relaxing evening beside the river. Sightseeing - Bhalukpong Kameng River, Local viewpoints, Forest and Himalayan foothill landscapes, Local market. Return to the hotel and relax. Overnight stay in Bhalukpong.
Day 2 - BHALUKPONG – DIRANG VIA BOMDILA
After breakfast, check out and begin your beautiful mountain journey towards Dirang. The road gradually climbs through the Eastern Himalayas, passing through lush forests, mountain villages and scenic viewpoints. En route, proceed towards Bomdila and enjoy the panoramic mountain views. Depending on time, visit Bomdila Monastery and the local market. Continue towards Dirang through beautiful Himalayan landscapes. On arrival in Dirang, check in to your hotel and relax. Sightseeing - Bomdila Monastery – subject to time, Bomdila View Point, Himalayan mountain scenery, Dirang Valley, Local villages. Overnight stay in Dirang.
Day 3 - TAWANG VIA SELA PASS & NURANANG WATERFALL
After an early breakfast, check out and begin one of the most spectacular drives of the tour towards Tawang. Proceed towards Sela Pass, one of the major highlights of the journey. Enjoy breathtaking views of the high-altitude mountains and Sela Lake, subject to weather and road conditions. Continue the journey through the dramatic Himalayan terrain. En route, visit the spectacular Nuranang/Jang Waterfall, surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery. Continue towards Tawang and check in to your hotel. Evening at leisure. En-route Attractions Sela Pass, Sela Lake, Nuranang/Jang Waterfall, Himalayan viewpoints, Scenic mountain villages. Overnight stay in Tawang.
Day 4 - TAWANG LOCAL SIGHTSEEING
After breakfast, proceed for a full-day sightseeing tour of Tawang. Begin with the magnificent Tawang Monastery, one of the most important Buddhist monasteries in the Himalayan region. Explore its prayer halls, architecture and peaceful surroundings. Later visit the Tawang War Memorial, dedicated to the Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the 1962 war. Continue to Urgelling Monastery, traditionally associated with the birthplace of the Sixth Dalai Lama. Explore local viewpoints and Tawang town. Sightseeing - Tawang Monastery, Tawang War Memorial, Urgelling Monastery, Tawang View Points, Local market, Buddhist cultural sites. Return to the hotel. Overnight stay in Tawang.
Day 5 - TAWANG – BUM LA PASS & SANGESTAR LAKE EXCURSION
After an early breakfast, proceed for an exciting full-day excursion towards the high-altitude border area. Visit Bum La Pass, located close to the India-China international border. The route offers spectacular high-altitude landscapes. Continue towards Sangestar Lake (Madhuri Lake), a beautiful high-altitude lake surrounded by dramatic mountains. Depending on accessibility and local conditions, visit nearby viewpoints and Shonga-tser Lake. Return to Tawang by evening. Sightseeing - Bum La Pass*, Sangestar Lake / Madhuri Lake*, Shonga-tser Lake / nearby areas*, High-altitude viewpoints, Himalayan landscapes. Overnight stay in Tawang.
Day 6 - TAWANG – BOMDILA
After breakfast, check out and begin your return journey towards Bomdila. Enjoy the beautiful Himalayan scenery along the route, with opportunities for photographs and short breaks at suitable viewpoints. On arrival in Bomdila, check in to your hotel. Later, explore the peaceful town and visit Bomdila Monastery if not covered earlier. Enjoy the evening at leisure. Sightseeing - Bomdila Monastery, Bomdila View Point, Bomdila Market, Himalayan surroundings, Local cultural areas. Overnight stay in Bomdila.
Day 7 - BOMDILA – DEPARTURE
After breakfast, check out from the hotel. Begin your journey towards your designated departure point. Enjoy the final views of the beautiful Arunachal Himalayan landscape as your memorable Bhalukpong – Dirang – Tawang – Bomdila tour comes to an end.
